Of course FPTP is garbage, but NPV FPTP is better than EC FPTP.

NPVIC doesn’t lock-in FPTP, and it will remain just as easy (actually very difficult) to pass national voting method reform under NPVIC as it would without NPVIC.

I’m pretty sure that approval is compatible with the NPV, and I believe that STAR is.

The National Popular Vote compact for now would be based on a plurality vote system, as used in nearly every state to elect governors and Senators. But nothing would prevent add-on agreements among states that could accommodate different systems, while holding true to the principle that the candidate with the most votes wins.

I think the only path to national voting method reform is to start with local voting method reform and work your way up. Representatives aren’t likely to give up a system that keeps them in power.
